DANJOH (Sense of Groove/ Jus'Play/ Phuturistic Bluez) It was the summer of 1998, when creators of current Drum'n'Bass scene in Tokyo such as DJ AKi, SABi, and HiDE had a legendary event called "Liquid Funk" where DANJOH was given his first opportunity to DJ. In the following years, he's spun at classic Drum'n'Bass parties such as Direct Drive in NYC and Elements in Boston. While living in Philadelphia, he was featured at the world re-known Platinum night alongside of Dieselboy. In 2000, DANJOH was invited to join Phuturistic Bluez for his soulful and musical style. He became a resident at the Phuturistic Bluez party, Sense of Groove, in NYC along side of his predecessor, Takeya. Around this time, he finally found the excitement and desire to express more of a Nu Jazz, Nu Brazil, and Electro sound and started to DJ these and other eclectic jams. At that point, Sense of Groove had become the first cross-over party in NYC to combine Drum'n'Bass and Nu Jazz. The night featured DJ Addiction of Swerve, DJ Flight of BBC, and Suv of Full Cycle crew as some of the guests. Ý Currently, DANJOH has an internet radio show on Saturdays at Midnight called "Jus'Play" (recently featured quality guests like Probe dms and Yellowtail) at EastVillageRadio.com and will be a resident DJ of the new monthly premier of "Sense of Groove," which now starts May 8th at "The ROOM" in Shibuya Tokyo.
