Behind the Dogdaze moniker goes a young man currently hailing from the suburbs of The Hague, The Netherlands, where the lack of distractions makes dedication to music a natural thing. Nonetheless, being almost the opposite of a gearfreak it wasn't before 2 years ago that he decided to get together a minimal set-up and start making beats. After experimenting with 313-influenced technosoul, leftfield hiphop and spheric electronic music 2004 saw him expanding his sound with an abstract take on broken beat, finding a way between keeping it raw and not losing the emotional content.

Things gradually got more focused and as a result his 5 track debut ep Outward was recently released on the multicolored Flyin' High Records, getting praised & played by the likes of Benji B, Volcov, Simon Harrison, Nik Weston, Gerd, Michael R¸tten, Pablo Valentino, Rednose Distrikt and many others. The release of the twelve was followed by remix requests for amongst others the Hipster Wonkaz (out this month, also on Flyin' High) and soulcollective Flowriders (4Lux Records). A couple of contributions to some dope samplers (a.o. for Beyondjazz.net in co-operation with Still Music, Chicago) are in the pipe and with a pile of own works in progress, a little covert action and a some very interesting collabs going on, 2005 looks like itís gonna be a productive year for this beatfreak. No matter what the future will bring, with one eye on the dancefloor and the other on experimentation a diverse output is guaranteed.
