For the past 10 years Colombian born Carlos Calle aka LosRoc has been blazing the wheels of steel with experiences ranging from FM/internet radio dj/host to rocking clubs and house parties, basketball tournament dj, hip-hop group dj, turntablist and live band dj.ÝÝ LosRoc is a founding member of the De La Calle Movement Sound System, which mixes a diversity of soulful musical genres incorporating hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, soul, latin, eclectic beats and world music. Ý It all began with Djing hip-hop 10 years ago but LosRocís passion for soulful music began back in the day in Colombia at age 6 while listening to the complex rhythms, harmonies, and melodies of salsa, vallenatos, merengue, cumbia, samba and bossa nova. While his sound and DJ sets reflect his musical diversity, LosRoc has always kept to his hip-hop roots with a loving passion for turntablism, graffiti art, b-boying, production and MCing.ÝÝ For LosRoc, having been raised on latin rhythms, incorporating technical mixes and turntablist techniques into his sets makes sense. LosRoc has rocked parties from coast to coast and everywhere in between - from Boston to NYC and San Francisco to London. In 2004, LosRoc released the ìParty By Natureî mix CD series with over 500 units distributed nationally. This mix series captures the diversity of musical genres that define the LosRoc sound.Ý While currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area, LosRoc is building with local hip-hop, reggae and latin music artists in anticipation of forthcoming live/DJ performances.Ý In the future LosRoc and dj Juan Sense (partner) will be releasing ìThe Don Filesî, a hip-hop EP on the De La Calle Records label.
